Who we are

Advanced Construction Skills provides construction and project management training, and information about using AI tools safely at work, through advancedcskills.com and linked training partners. Our website address is advancedcskills.com.

Information we collect

We collect information in these ways:

• When you contact us. If you email us using the address shown on this site, we receive your email address, name if you give it, and the content of your message.
• When you comment on an article. If comments are enabled on a post and you leave one, we collect the name and email you provide, your comment text, your IP address and browser information, to help with spam detection.
• Automatically, through analytics. We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how the site is used. This collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site, generally through cookies. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
• Through embedded content. Some pages embed video from providers such as YouTube and JW Player. Playing an embedded video may let that provider set its own cookies and collect data about your interaction with it, under its own privacy policy.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website can place on your device. Our analytics and embedded video providers may set cookies as described above. We do not currently use cookies for advertising. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; doing so may affect how some embedded content displays.

Several pages link out to AI tools and other websites we do not operate, including:

• Third-party guides, documentation and open-source project pages we reference in articles

How we use your information

We use the information above to respond to enquiries, moderate comments and prevent spam, understand and improve the site, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Disclosure to third parties

We share information with the service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider, Google (Analytics and Site Kit), Cloudflare (security and performance), and video hosting providers. These providers process information on our behalf or under their own privacy policies, and we do not share your information for their independent marketing use.

Data retention

We keep contact emails and comment data for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, keep site security and meet legal requirements, then delete or de-identify it. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard settings for our account.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including using a reputable hosting provider and Cloudflare for security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to any legal obligation we have to keep it. If you are in Australia, we aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for construction, education and project management professionals, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
